The following project is a Design Studio project for a Maker Space in Downtown Syracuse New York. The final design  (shown here) was reached through an iterative design process. The program of the building is divided as follows.

• Reception
• Gallery
• Work Space
• Auditorium
• Offices

The grand staircase allows non members to experience the Work Space and move through it, inspiring them to utilize the Maker Space and become members. The nested auditorium takes on the formal shape of the facade of the building, which in turn acts as an extension to the buildings on either side.
